Why Wildside
Here at Wildside Survival we aim to teach you the key skills to live comfortably in the great outdoors, Our courses are run in a lovely part of West Sussex which is only an hour away from London.
Having Fun
All our courses are run in a relaxed way to make them as informative as possible. We want all our customers to have fun and to go away from our course with a sense of achievement.
Wildside Survival's main instructor is Kevin Wadey who was bought up in the local area of West Sussex and spent most of his childhood learning about the outdoor life. In 2005/6 Kevin was able to get his interest in Bushcraft and outdoor skills formally recognised by achieving anationally recognised qualification as a Bushcraft and Outdoor instructor.
To gain this qualification Kevin had to show an Understanding of the natural environment along with various teaching skills, legislation and Health and Safety and of course Bushcraft. With the course Kevin gained his BELA certificate (Basic Expedition Leaders Award). This qualifies Kevin to take groups of people out for walks in lowland britain (Kevin is hoping to do his Mountain Leaders award some time in the near future) Kevin also holds a creative craft certificate which involves wood carving and he is also a qualified First Aider.

James Chappell Survival weekend
Hi Kevin,
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks very much to you and Dick for providing such an excellent weekend for us. We learned loads, had a great experience and had a great craic into the bargain.
You were an excellent trainer and host, and I'd like to say that we appreciate the flexibility you offered us by constantly checking what we wanted to do next.
Your approach is very very refreshing.
I wish you and your family all the very best for the future.
Again, many many thanks,
Tom.
Kevin (and Richard)
I take this opportunity to thank you both for a very pleasant, informative and professionally run weekend.
I found all the activities very interesting and thoroughly enjoyable (apart from the walk from the car). I feel a great sense of achievement was gained from the coarse and will be out shortly trying out my new skills. I have remembered a great deal of what was taught ( it takes a couple of days to sink in), especially the fire lighting techniques, and will pass them on to others (maybe). I found the 'walkabout' on Sunday particularly interesting. On the drive home, Mark commented: " I feel that I could live in a wood now", that coming from a person who is a total 'towny' must be a compliment to your teachings. I have always had a deep love for the 'countryside' and nature , but you have now set me on another level.
Thanks Wayne
Kevin,
Thanks again for the course - thoroughly enjoyable, and excellently delivered by you guys. We both really enjoyed ourselves and will probably come on some of your others.

Hi Kevin, I wanted to drop you an email to say thank you very much for a great weekend. I felt I learnt a lot and did many things i've wanted to learn/do for quite some time. I found yourself, Richard and Brian very easy to get on with but also very knowledgeable and professional in what you do. This is something i'd like to come back and do again or try some of your other courses you take. Hope to see you again and I also hope things get better for you personally. Great meeting you.
Toby.
