The Mother by T.M. Logan | Goodreads

I’ve not watched any of his dramas so I’m certainly going to correct this and read more of his work. Why have I never before this? I have no idea except too many books little time. The tentative steps she takes to form new relationships with people she meets but also to leave behind habits from prison and also the appreciation of things once considered every day routine! T.M. Logan takes you an emotional rollercoaster with his latest unputdownable thriller. He just gets better and better' Heidi Perks THE CATCH, about a father convinced his daughter is about to marry a man with terrible secrets, has also been made into a TV drama for Channel 5 starring Jason Watkins, Poppy Gilbert, Aneurin Barnard and Cathy Belton (screened Jan-Feb 2023, available on My5). But, she has an unlikely ally in her sister in law who appears to be on her side, plus a journalist who wants to help her find the truth. As she gets closer to the truth things get very dangerous. But in her cause trying not to break the terms of her release she soon realises that the ones she puts her faith in doubts are forming and who she never doubted will show a side of their character that she never saw coming in a calculated twist at the end. There are certain things I love as a reader, when the book from the beginning pulls me in & doesn’t let go , when I’m given multiple twists and when the ending is really an ending ( I don’t like it to end too soon or drag out too long). This book had all of that and more. Two weeks after it came out as an e-book, I discovered that my day job – by this point I was a deputy director in charge of the university’s communications team – was being made redundant as part of a restructure. That was when I decided to take the plunge into writing full-time, which I have been doing since summer 2017. It’s a job that I love. What a brilliant fast paced thriller read this is it kept me glued to my seat throughout. All the characters were well described and there were plenty of things happening to throw you off the scent, so many twists and turns. Our servers are getting hit pretty hard right now. To continue shopping, enter the characters as they are shown I was born in Berkshire and grew up in Reading, the youngest of three boys and a fully-fledged bookworm from a very young age. I read history at Westfield College, part of the University of London, and went on to do a postgrad at Cardiff University.

Through the protagonist Heather, the author touches upon a sensitive issue... that of an ex convict trying to face a new reality after she has lost everything! Always enjoy this authors books ( and watch the TV adaptions, new one starts tonight ) but got to say outright this is my favourite of his ( and surely a TV Series will follow in the future for this one too ) There was something so captivating about this audio! I could not put it down! (or pull the ear-buds out!) The Curfew follows the events of a hot midsummer's night, when five teenagers go up to the woods to celebrate the end of exams, and only four come out... The story starts with a funeral. The children stand at the front of the room grieving the loss of their mother. Little do they know that she is stood, hiding in the shadows watching them with her heart breaking…I should have sensed it. Felt it in the air, like the build-up of pressure before a thunderstorm, that heavy, loaded calm. Bestselling author TM Logan was a national newspaper journalist before turning to novel-writing full time. His thrillers have sold more than two million copies in the UK and are published in translation in 22 countries around the world including France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, South Korea, Poland, Hungary, Serbia, Greece, Romania and the Netherlands. Because five teenagers went into the woods that night, but only four came out. And telling the truth might mean losing everything . . . It has it good moments of various revelations, but they weren't ones that kept you guessing or at edge as to what happens next! This one gave me some The Firm vibes and I loved every minute of it. Getting caught was not an option and I enjoyed the way the author kept the pace steady.

A couple of this author's novels have already been adapted and brought to the screen and I would be amazed if "The Mother" doesn't follow suit. This would definitely make for a very watchable mini-series, but in the meantime it also makes a wonderfully readable and riveting novel. I have a confession to make.. I haven’t read any TM Logan books before despite meeting Tim at Harrogate and arranging all his blogtours for him through his publisher. With a clever opening, your intrigue is hooked from the beginning. Switching between past and present as we see the events in Heather's past which lead up to her current situation of being in hiding as she attempts to find out the truth, the twists and revelations constantly add more to the story to keep the tension high.My books have sold more than two million copies in the UK and have been translated into 22 other languages including French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Korean, German, Hungarian, Serbian, Romanian, Greek and Dutch.

With a journalist who is convinced of her innocence, they work together to discover the truth. A truth that some people are determined to keep secret, people who will stop at nothing to keep the truth buried. Unfortunately for them, Heather is a badass character who will stop at nothing to find justice. No need to give a synopsis as you can read the blurb and other posts about this book , but you will be giving yourself a disservice if you don't grab a copy and get reading. TM Logan was born in Berkshire to an English father and a German mother. He studied at Queen Mary and Cardiff universities before becoming a national newspaper journalist. He currently works in communications and lives in Nottinghamshire with his wife and two children.A true single-sitting read, The Mother is the best yet from the master of the heartbreaking, heart-pounding, head-spinning thriller. * Ellery Lloyd, author of PEOPLE LIKE HER * But Heather has never stopped proclaiming her innocence, she is determined to discover what happened that terrible evening - even if it costs her her own life… Thus begins her quest to clear her name and find her husband’s killer. Teaming up with a journalist they begin to delve deeper into her husband’s activitities as a politician but there are people out there who believe the past should remain in the past and will stop at NOTHING to make sure their secrets stay hidden.
