Course Outline - Family Bushcraft (1 day)
What
With this fun-packed course for the family where you will practice such skills you have seen Ray Mears demonstrate on the TV! You will get the chance to find edible plants, make fires, build shelters and much more.
The instructors will explain and demonstrate but everyone will get the opportunity to have a go at everything!
You will cover the folllowing:
- Fire lighting
Basic principles of firelighting – siting, laying, safety (extinguishing and removing traces)
Choosing the right natural materials (the best woods, bark, fungi and grasses).
- Water
Where and how to find water, water purification.
- Shelter
Man made and natural shelters.
Making a natural shelter
- Plant & tree use
How to identify and use the natural resources around you for food, firelighting and other bushcraft uses.
When

The day course starts at 9:30am and finishes at about 5pm.
Who
For adults and children together. Maximum of 3 children per adult. Minimum age 6.
There is a maximum of 10 people on this course.
Where
We run our courses in various beautiful woodlands in and around the heart of Sussex.
